Green Ribbon School

On Wednesday, September 25, OLG students listened to Castro Valley Sanitation representative Mr. Jordan, discuss the Four R's of environmental responsibility:

Reduce

Reuse

Recycle

Rot

These are important principles to keep in mind in order to slow the ravages of global warming and environmental catastrophe.

For the past ten years (with the exception of during "Covid years") OLG has been included among the "Green Ribbon" schools in the area.  This means that the students and staff adhere to a rigorous recycling protocol, a cycle monitored by Castro Valley Sanitation on a regular basis.  The ribbon comes with a cash award that is directed back to student scholarships.

Our Lady of Grace School is proud of its "Green Ribbon School" status and is grateful to Fourth Grade teacher, Mr. Killian for monitoring the school's progress and to Castro Valley Sanitation for all of the good work accomplished in our community.
