December 6: Feast of St Nicholas

Friday, December 6, brought a great deal of excitement to Our Lady of Grace School.  The students arrived in their p.j's with an extra shoe to leave outside of their classrooms because there was a rumor that the saint himself was out and about.

After a prayer service led by the Student Council, the students created Christmas ornaments (one for the school tree, one for home) and then watched a movie that told all about St Nicholas.

Following recess, some parents joined the fun as Mrs. Dobbs and the choir led the school in singing Christmas Carols.  Following this, Father Raphael blessed the parish and school tree which was decorated by individual students and then lit by one of the very youngest.

The highlight was the arrival of the good Bishop of Myrna,  Saint Nicholas himself, who brought individual gifts for each student and was nice enough to pose for class photos.

It was indeed a wondrous day!
